Matthew S. Ellam, CNP
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Matthew S. Ellam, CNP is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. He has trained and practiced at hospitals, community mental health centers, correctional facilities, and private practices throughout Massachusetts. Matthew’s experience lies in community mental health, and he has provided diagnostic, consultative, and pharmacological services at multiple urban and rural health centers and outpatient practices throughout the country. Matthew’s approach combines evidence-based psychiatric care with a personalized, patient-centered philosophy. Specializing in adult ADHD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and mood disorders, Matthew works collaboratively with each patient to develop treatment plans that fit their lifestyle, goals, and health needs.
He received his Master of Science in Nursing from the MGH Institute of Health Professions and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
Susan P. Stevens, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Dr. Susan Stevens is a doctorally prepared, board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner who provides thoughtful, individualized care to adults seeking support with their mental health and overall well-being. She was drawn to this work through a deep interest in personal stories and the ways our histories, relationships, and lived experiences shape who we are.
In her practice, Susan works collaboratively with each person to understand their experiences and to develop an approach to care that feels supportive, practical, and meaningful. She offers psychotherapy, psychiatric evaluation, and medication management, with a focus on helping patients feel understood, supported, and empowered.
Her approach is grounded in trauma-informed, person-centered, and gender-affirming care. She integrates a range of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems, mindfulness-based practices, interpersonal psychotherapy, and solution-focused therapy. She places particular emphasis on creating a safe, respectful space where each person’s unique experience is honored, and where care is tailored to the whole person within the context of their life, relationships, and communities.
Susan brings a strong foundation in teaching and mentorship to her clinical work, reflecting a lifelong commitment to learning, reflection, and growth. She has practiced across hospital, community, and outpatient settings, and values building meaningful, collaborative relationships with the people she works with.
She currently provides care through telehealth.
